Did you know you can send an SMS Text message to a phone with GoldMine? I have a client that uses this to send driving directions to field service technicians.
1. Select Actions | Call Contact | Send SMS/Text Message
2. Select the appropriate phone number from the drop down (lists all the available numbers from the Current Contact record)
3. Select the mobile Carrier (AT&T, Verizon, etc)
4. Type in the Text message you wish to send
5. Click Send
Note that the SMS now appears in the Contact Record history.

What if you do not know the "carrier"
Most of the customers we have in the system we don't know the carrier!
You will, unfortunately, need to know the Carrier, else the Text will not get sent... This is typically used for "internal" employee communication, rarely for contact directly to the Customer/Prospect. Please let me know if there is anything else I can answer, thanks.
