This is surprisingly difficult, isn't it? I mean, all we want to know is how many records we have in GoldMine! Where is this number?
...there are ways to see "summaries" in GoldMine. For example, you can right-click within the Search Center and check "Summary". This provides a count in the bottom left hand corner of the Search Center. But it only counts records in the current search.
...if we want to know ALL the records in our GoldMine, we must use SQL queries;
1. Select Tools | SQL Query from the top level menu.
2. In the query box, use the following queries to generate record counts;
This one gives you the count of all Contact Records;
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM CONTACT1
This one gives you the count of all History Records;
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM CONTHIST
3. Simply copy and paste these queries (one at a time) into the box and hit "Query".
4. You can always save a query for re-use by using the "Save" button in the upper right hand corner.
Try it and have some fun!
