GoldMine : Exporting your Holiday Mailing List

  It even gets easier. Creating the filter was the second hardest part. Now, we finally get to;

3. Export records out of GoldMine identified as part of the Mailing List.

   Going back to the Search Center for this. The idea is to generate our "list" here and then export to Excel.

  a. First, open your Filters/Groups tree by clicking on the button in the upper left hand corner of the Search Center. Expand the Filters tree and find your Holiday Card List filter.

  b. Double-click on the filter to activate it. You will see the following window asking about Filter Optimization. The answer in our case (in 99% of cases) is No.

  c.  Your Search Center is now in "Preview Mode". You can always tell this by looking at the search center tab name, shown below.

  d. Now we can actually export our list. Within the list in the Search Center, right-click, select Output To, then Excel.

  Ta-da! You're done. A few things, however;

  1. Could you have just exported the list by simply searching on Holiday Card? Yes, but thought I might throw in a Filters tutorial while we were here.

  2. I want to add columns to my list! Simply go to the Columns button in the upper right-hand corner of the Search Center.

 3. I'm not getting everyone in my list exported! Go to Tools | Configure | System Settings | Display and  increase the "number of records shown in the Search Center" (the top number). You'll need to restart your GoldMine to get the change.

Good luck and happy holidays!
